Salary Tax Calculator
The salary tax calculator from taxcalculator.credit/ tells you exactly how much income tax is deducted from your pay in Pakistan. Enter your monthly gross salary, pick the tax year, and instantly see your annual tax, monthly withholding, net take-home pay and effective tax rate – with a full slab-by-slab breakdown.
How to use this calculator
- Select the tax year. Slabs change almost every budget, so pick the year your salary relates to. The 2025-26 slabs are verified against FBR’s notified tax card.
- Enter your monthly gross salary – the amount before any deductions.
- Read your result. Annual tax is what you owe for the year; monthly withholding is what your employer should deduct each month.
Understanding your result
Pakistan taxes salary income on a progressive basis: the first Rs 600,000 of annual income (2025-26) is tax-free, and higher portions of income are taxed at rising rates – 1%, 11%, 23%, 30% and 35%. Only the slice of income inside each slab is taxed at that slab’s rate, which is why the breakdown table matters: it shows precisely where every rupee of your tax comes from. If your annual income crosses Rs 10 million, a 9% surcharge applies on top.
Salary tax FAQs
Is salary income up to Rs 600,000 really tax-free?
For tax year 2025-26, yes – the first slab carries a 0% rate. This threshold moves with each Finance Act, so check the year you are calculating for.
Why does my employer’s deduction differ slightly?
Employers estimate annual income and deduct proportionally each month; bonuses, arrears or mid-year salary changes cause small differences that settle at final settlement.
Does this include the surcharge?
Yes – where the selected year’s rules include a surcharge above Rs 10 million annual income, it is applied automatically.
